What this test checks
- Controller detection and browser-reported ID
- Button and trigger values
- Analog stick X/Y axes
- Multiple controller selection
- A repeatable two-second center-offset sample
How this test works
- Connect the controller and press any button.
- Move every stick and press buttons to verify live input.
- Release both sticks, then run Measure center for two seconds.
- Repeat any drift warning before assuming a hardware issue.
If the test does not behave as expected
- After connecting a controller, press a button once. Some browsers do not expose a gamepad until the user interacts with it.
- If the controller is not detected, reconnect USB or Bluetooth, refresh the page, and try another current browser before assuming a hardware problem.
- Non-standard controllers can report different button or axis mappings. Inspect the live values rather than relying only on a printed button name.
- Repeat a drift measurement with your hands completely off the sticks. A single warning is not proof that the controller needs repair.
Note: The browser API does not provide a trustworthy end-to-end input latency or true USB polling-rate measurement. Those claims are intentionally excluded.
