Online Keyboard Test

What this test checks

• Keydown and keyup events received by the browser
• Simultaneous key input / rollover observation
• Maximum keys held at once during the session
• Raw key and code values
• A heuristic warning for unusually fast duplicate key events

How this test works

1. Click the page, then press keys across your keyboard.
2. Try combinations if you want to observe rollover behavior.
3. Inspect the latest event if a key maps unexpectedly.
4. Reset the test before repeating a suspected issue.

If the test does not behave as expected

• Click the page before testing so key events are directed to the browser. Some operating-system shortcuts may never reach the page.
• If a key maps unexpectedly, check the active keyboard layout and input language in the operating system.
• If duplicate input is suspected, reset the test and repeat the same key several times before drawing a conclusion.
• Fn, media, brightness, power, and some system keys may be handled by hardware or the operating system instead of the browser.

Note: Some Fn, media or operating-system shortcut keys may be handled before they reach a web page. A chatter warning is a heuristic, not proof of a bad switch.
